Also known as Rhyncholaelia glauca, by latest taxonomical mumbo jumbo, it is a small cattleya like plant with silvery leaves and has been used in numerous hybrids. That is the "B" in BC, Blc, BL, BS and so on. It's bigger sister is Brassavola digbyana and it lends the frilliness in the lips of most hybrid cats. Brassavola glauca is native of Central America, and actually grows in trees very close to our farm in Veracruz. It is a great beginner's plant tolerating many conditions. These are blooming size plants with at least 4 mature pseudobulbs mounted on Thai driftwood
