This floating Ludwigia is native to Central and South America, where it can be found growing in stagnant waters as well as in sections of riverine environments that are free of current.  T his floating stem plant requires light. Even values in the higher range of what is possible over a planted aquarium are often not enough. Outdoor culture in a well-lit pond or tub is sometimes the only way to achieve satisfactory growth with this species. Heavy fertilization with macro- and micronutrients is suggestedl (if enough light is available) to produce attractive growth. Yellow flowers form on the floating rosettes if the plant is achieving good growth.  This is a very tropical plant and must be shipped when your temperatures are above 50 degrees  It does not ship well so be prepared to immediately place in a sunny warm area in non chlorinated water. They revive rapidly.  Should this not occur,  we will replace at no charge once for postage, only.     We ship these in deli cups with hornwort included to add moisture and provide a cushion while in shipment.  Hornwort is a great aquarium, and pond plant providing shelter for smaller fishes, an added bonus when purchasing this plant.

Shipping for plants is Monday, Tuesday and some Saturdays weather permitting.  We monitor weather conditions before shipping to your area.  We try to get out same day if on a Monday, Tuesday or Saturday .  So if it is below freezing in your area don't expect shipment in 3 days, but when your temps are acceptable.    POSTAGE CALCULATIONS CAN BE WAY OFF, AND WE REFUND EXCESS POSTAGE.  FOR CLOSER CALCULATIONS ADD TO CART INSTEAD OF PURCHASING SEPARATELY.  OR ASK FOR US TO COMBINE IT.   You can get a more accurate postage calculation by going to USPS website and calculate a price from our zip 33470 to your zip.

Because a few people have given me negative or neutral feedback on Ebay , we are debating about not shipping thru ebay next winter or heat of summer. If you have no patience and live up north please do not order from us in the winter. Wait for spring. Otherwise for an example if you live in Kotzebue, Alaska and order in November, expect a shipment to you in about Mid May! We can't get tropical plants to you even with a heat pack when your temperatures are 50 below zero! However if you live in South Texas, your weather is such that we can ship the following ship day (Monday Tuesday, Saturday+ Tropical plants are just that. It means they will die in freezing weather. For African violets, that temp is 38 degrees. They can also cook if left in a mailbox in temperatures above 94 and sometimes even less. As a seller and grower we try our best. We expect the same from our buyers.
Sitting out on an airport tarmac or back end of an unheated truck for just a few minutes in freezing conditions means the plant will get to you as brown mush. If you are concerned about your order we are more than happy to communicate. Just do not leave us anything but positive feedback without communicating with us first. We try very hard to please and do this because we love it, certainly not for the money. Oh forgot to mention we will gladly ship anytime if you are willing to take full risk and state this on your order.

Mosaic  plants are very tropical and smaller than we like to ship during the winter.  We will hold your order and probably ship in April depending upon your conditions .  Southern states usually ship earlier. Also shipping these by first class mail is not suggested. Please ship plants by priority mail. especially this item. They do not hold up if more than 3 days in the mail and we have no control of this.  Price is per stem.  We try to ship extra as the season progresses but they are always scarce in the early spring.  Please dont even consider shipping these 1st class mail as they will most assuredly arrive poorly

Mosaic Plant
This plant is a little more finicky than frogbit or some other more common floating plants. It also seems to be happier as a shallow water marginal plant, with it’s roots in the substrate and its head reaching up to the surface. If you can find it’s sweet spot though, it is a stunning plant and well worth the effort!

Beautiful plant
The plant itself is very unique. It’s not spreading much and I think it’s because everything else was already well established in our pond when it entered late.
