Glossostigma elatinoides is commonly used as a foreground plant in aquariums. Plant several pots of Glossostigma in the desired areas and then watch them expand to form a dense carpet. Requires ample lighting to be successful. Glossostigma elatinoides from New Zealand is much in demand in Japanese inspired aquariums It is one of the smalles aquarium plants, and thus a good foreground . It demands lotrs of light and grows upwards if light is poor. Make sure larger plants do not overshadow it. When planting in aquariums small clumps should be placed at intervals of an inch or so to help the plants grow together more quickly. CO2 and soft water promote growth.
